Send a one-time fax with no signup
There is no account to create and no email to confirm before you send. You open the page, add your pages, enter the fax number and pay. It all runs in a phone browser, so there is nothing to install either.
Most people who land here need one fax for one errand: a benefits office, a court, a clinic, an insurer, a form with a deadline on it. A single fax is the whole product here, not the entry tier of something larger.
What it costs, and when you are charged
$2.99 flat for one fax of up to 25 pages. Not per page and not per minute, so a one-page fax and a twenty-five-page fax cost the same.
Your card is authorized when you send and charged only once the receiving machine confirms delivery. If the fax does not arrive, the hold is released and you pay nothing. That is the whole billing model: you pay for faxes that land.
Pay per fax, or pay every month
Most online fax services sell a subscription, because they are built for an office that faxes every week. If that is you, a monthly plan is probably the cheaper answer. If you need one fax, a subscription is a recurring charge for a one-off errand, and the free trial that starts it usually wants a card up front.

This is not an argument against subscriptions. It is that if you are sending one fax, you should be able to pay for one fax.
What you can send: a photo or a PDF, up to 25 pages
Photograph each page with your phone camera and ProntoFax crops, straightens and converts it to the high-contrast black and white a fax machine expects. Or upload a PDF you already have. One fax is one document, so you add either photos or a file, not both.
The limit is 25 pages per fax, including an optional cover page. Long documents are not split automatically: send the rest as a second fax and label both cover sheets.
Every page is shown to you before anything is sent, and any single page can be retaken without starting over.
English and Spanish
Every screen, error message, receipt and confirmation email exists in both English and Spanish. The language is set per fax, so sending in Spanish takes nothing more than choosing it, and there is no account setting to change because there is no account.
Where your confirmation goes
You give an email address at the end, and the receipt arrives there once delivery is confirmed. It carries the delivery time, the page count, the last four digits of the number you sent to, the $2.99 charge and a link to view the document you sent. It is the receipt itself, not a notification telling you to go and find one.
If the fax fails, that email says so and confirms the hold on your card has been removed.
